Meet our new pets...the fish. It's hard for me to think of them as pets but Jake and Mady are in love with these guys! Jake had the privilege of naming them and we still laugh at what he came up with...Tom (orange), Jerry (silver), and Cowboy Joe (black). He loves to watch the old classic Tom and Jerry cartoons at grandma and grandpa's house and one of his favorite songs is a really silly one called Cowboy Joe...so that's where the names are from. Jake does a great job of helping feed the fish every morning and Mady tries to give them kisses on a regular basis (there are always little kiss marks all over the tank). The only one that doesn't seem too excited about the fish is Lexie. She barked at them every chance she got for the first few days they were here! She seems to be handling their presence a little better now...although she still barks at them from time to time. Welcome to the family boys!
I had to put at solo picture of Cowboy Joe because he's Jake's favorite of the bunch. Cowboy Joe is also not our first black goldfish...he's actually a replacement for a less fortunate little fishy. So now if anyone asks Jake about his fish he tells them that "Cowboy Joe is doing good, he's not dying." We're hoping that it stays that way because Jake seems quite attached to the little guy!
My sister had an orange fish named Tom once!
