A Quiet Day

After a very busy few days it was nice to have a quiet day at home with the kids. Unfortunately, Jason was at work today so he wasn't able to hangout and relax with us. However, Jake reminded me about 20 times today that "Daddy's at work on the fire trucks!" so it was almost like he was here with us. We had a great time just playing with toys, reading books, and checking out the snow outside.

Madison was super busy as usual and was making me laugh with the number of trips she wanted to take up and down the stairs. She wants to move around all the time now and she seems to be getting much closer to taking those first few steps (any day now Little Miss!).

Jake was also very busy with his new pastime, hooking up his fire truck to whatever he can find so he can use it as a tow truck. I'm pretty sure his fascination with tow trucks has a little something to do with the fact that he has seen the movie Cars about 100 times and LOVES the character Mater (a tow truck of course). In fact he is in his room right now for "naptime" and I can hear him talking about Mater, Lightning, and Chick Hicks. I was a little uncertain about his ability to start learning some bible verses, however, after hearing him recite full scenes from Cars I am starting to realize just how much he can remember. I guess that gives us something to start working on!

Climbing up the stairs

still climbing...

At the top of the stairs and quite proud of herself

Trying to figure out what to tow...hmmm...

...oh look, a little Mady hanging out in her wagon...

Finally someone that thinks this is fun too!!
